![]() ![]() Capote adopted Truman, legally changing his last name to Capote and enrolling him in private school. ![]() In 1933, he moved to New York City to live with his mother and her new husband, Joseph Capote, a Cuban-born businessman. He was a lonely child who learned to read and write by himself before entering school. His parents divorced when he was four and he went to live with his mother's relatives in Monroeville, Alabama. He was born as Truman Streckfus Persons to a salesman Archulus Persons and young Lillie Mae. Truman Capote was an American writer whose non-fiction, stories, novels and plays are recognised literary classics, including the novella Breakfast at Tiffany's (1958) and In Cold Blood (1965), which he labeled a "non-fiction novel." At least 20 films and TV dramas have been produced from Capote novels, stories and screenplays. ![]() Saga compendium 25/21/2023 ![]() That union mandated break is nearly up, and we readers are anxiously awaiting issue #55. They promised to return in just over a years’ time. Vaughan (writer) and Fiona Staples (artist), took a bit of a break to recharge their batteries. With issue #54 (published in the summer of 2018) of the star-spanning, Eisner-Award winning series, creators Brian k. Saga has been collected many times, in smaller page-count formats, both as trade paperbacks and handsome hardcovers. We’ve talked about Saga before, here at Biff Bam Pop! It’s one of our favourite reads, as evidenced here (the first issue, released way back in 2012) and here (the beginning of the fourth story arc with issue #19 back in 2014). It’s the story of a child growing up and the trials and tribulations of her, her family and her friends – something that we can all identify with. If you haven’t been reading Saga, know that it’s an ambitious character-driven epic that hearkens aspects of Romeo and Juliet as much as it does Star Wars. ![]() Well, after fifty-four (near-monthly) chapters in the long and winding and immensely enjoyable series, every plot point and every emotional moment that has come thus far gets the royal treatment in a wonderful trade paperback compendium that clocks in at 1,400 pages of glorious story and art! ![]() If you weren’t on-board already (why wouldn’t you be?), now is the time for you to commit to Saga – easily one of the greatest science fiction and fantasy epics in comic book history. ![]() ![]() ![]() Technically, Franklin's talking about heaven here, but, funnily enough, he could also be talking about his Autobiography.
